What is that screaming?!

Here is an illustration: Kelli is brushing her teeth. Shellie is taking the picture. I am fast asleep... and Amber had intended to only rinse her feet. Hmmmm....

The Choice has been made

Sudan Genocide Painting, it is!

I will use the style of hieroglyphs. I love some of the pictures taken on msnbc.com. If you go to their homepage, and click on "the week in pictures" you will see some pretty interesting things. Did you know there is a LOCUST plague in africa right now? It's just like Moses times. You can actually see pictures of what is happening on the slideshow archives on that same website.

Big praise-- my medical bills were completely paid for through the charity at Hendrick Hospital. Big thanks to all who helped me out during those tests last semester.

peace! -kat

In the NEWS

Lately, I have been feeling rather intimate with the television, computer, and newspaper. I have been given a mission, if I choose to accept it, to paint a political painting that appropriates images, style, or subject matter from another artist or art movement from any time, place, culture, etc. This continues to prove to be very difficult for me. I have some ideas, but it seems that my professor still wants me to keep searching. The two issues I am thinking of:

1) The Fall of the American Empire (illustrating America's current status as the new Rome.)
2) Fitness quick focus (turning the focus of exercise to intrinsic rewards vs. extrinsic benefit - even though the two aren't mutually exclusive.)

bonus) A commentary on the current state of Sudan.

My main concern is the borrowed image from another artist. The cartoon up there is funny, huh? I think this artist captures the headlines well.

peace like a river,
