Bursting Forth
As I watched the fireworks tonight, I couldn't help but think how many of the fireworks mimic "flower" shapes.
I imagined each little spark as a firefly, swarming together to form a giant hydrangea poof and then each dispersing and flying away to do its business.
Some of the firecrackers look like mums, others like blue bonnets. Whatever the case, I love watching the people flocking together to watch the displays. In Abilene, I drove down Treadaway street, and I could see the fireworks overhead as I drove. When I turned toward Pine, I saw so many isolated people sitting and watching. Those side streets were fascinating to drive down. When I reached my destination (Erin on Pine), there they were: young and old, hispanic, white, yellow, you name it... all were there to watch the fireworks. Little ones screamed in excitement. Older ones "ooohed and awwwwed". I am looking forward to that crazy day when we will see their faces look toward heaven, and we will all be looking at something quite a bit more AWEsome than fireworks!
Joy like a firework,
katrina
