When I turn eighty-one...

As I was driving down the street today, I began to wonder if I will live to be eighty-one-years-old. (My mind tends to wander to silly things... most of the time.) The year will be 2064 (if we're still using that way of telling time). I wonder if we will refer to the style of a decade in the same way. You know, now we refer to the style of the thirties, and everyone instantly gets pictures of the world's fair, the depression, wind storms, and WW2 (all in black and white photography, of course).

But what about in 2064? Will we have to refer to the thirties as the 1930s?! Wouldn't it just be strange to imagine the twenty-thirties as a decade where Microsoft fails, China's economy is the strongest in the world, Space travel is just like an "out of this world" vacation where any old Joe can hop on a shuttle for the day and see the moon...?

You know, if my God allows this earth to even last that long, I wouldn't mind looking down from heaven or being around here. I'm sure both will be quite interesting. And who wouldn't want to be eighty-one, right? It is the pinnacle of good design. 3 cubed times three... it must be like being twenty-seven all over again! :D Okay, that is enough!

Moving forward,
katrina
